feeling not worth of being loved again

because of everything you did, everything you hid

I close my heart to avoid the pain

but suddenly, that one person I hadn't seen in years

messages me

he is everything you never were

he sends good morning and goodnight texts

he asks me how my day was

he tries everything to paint a smile on my face

with him I feel like I do not have to follow any laws

I haven't told him anything about my story

I simply cannot take the idea of him knowing all of my darkest mistakes

I trust him without even having to look him in the eyes

And even though he may not be as pretty as you, he is everything I could have wished for
