It was an ordinary Tuesday morning in the USA the day terrorist attacks happened. Four hijacked planes – four targets. The first plane hit its first target, the North Tower of the World Trade Centre. Seven minutes later, the second plane hit the South Tower of WTC. The two towers collapsed and took a lot of innocent lives. The third plane hit the Pentagon, the headquarters of the American military, 34 minutes later. The fourth, and final flight, was the only to not hit the target. What happened?
Four hijackers boarded the flight and took over the control of the plane. They had intended to hit the target. From the phone calls passengers, they found out about the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Centre and the Pentagon. People knew they were going to become part of the next suicide attack. After calling their loved ones, passengers decided to retake the plane from the hijackers. There was a struggle, a fight. Finally, the hijackers crashed the plane into a field; they did not hit the intended target.
Everyone on the plane died. They knew they were going to but it was their mission to not let the plane hit the target and take even more innocent lives. 40 incredibly brave individuals saved many people by making a sacrifice. This act should not be forgotten and must be remembered in order to continue believing in humanity's goodness.
