"Crying at the Discotheque" was a song that reached the top charts all over Europe in 2001. However, a new song called "Disko" by the band Last Pizza Slide aka LPS, from Slovenia, is already being a hit and will certainly impress not only Europe but also the world due to its unique and cool vibe.
According to the official press release for the video for "Disko", the Slovenian entry has adopted the project slogan “Young people can do it” and included the participation of their friends in the production of the video.
Please introduce yourself for our readers.
We are a young band from Slovenia, and we play different genres of music.
How did you first meet and when did the idea of starting the band come along?
We started playing instruments numerous years ago in music school and then we met at our high school and all of us shared the passion for music. We believe that making music together is a lot more enjoyable for us and for our fans.
How did you decide to apply for EMA 2022? Were you expecting to win?
Žiga took the initiative and we all agreed as we knew we had nothing to lose.
So far, who is your Eurovision journey going on and what is the most fun thing about it? What are your plans for the staging in Turin?
Last weekend we performed at Eurovision and Concert. It was nice to see so many people enjoying our music. We were also happy to meet other performers at the Eurovision Song Contest. Otherwise, we are working on the details of our performance, and we are looking forward to leaving for Turin.
Are there any musicians who inspire you or are your dream collaboration?
We definitely have a lot of artists that inspire us because we mostly listen to different genres of music, but we all agree that it would be amazing to share the stage with ABBA, Lawrence, Joker Out, Hamo & Tribute 2 Love, Hauptman, Pink Floyd and many more great artists.
Do you have any hobbies or interests outside of music?
We are currently actively working on the release of the album, which we want to present on as many stages as possible. And, we have to catch up our schoolwork. So currently, we have no time for anything else.
